I'm not sure what to think of it. It kinda just looks like the stereotypical "I'mma gon' shock you with sudden loud noises and things jumping out of shit suddenly" kind of films. But I'll probably rent it when its out on dvd purely out of curiosity.

I thought when I saw it that it was just going to be things popping out judging by the audiences reactions, but it was more like the Blair Witch Project, having weird, creepy unexplainable things happen.

I am a hardcore horror movie fanatic and thought that this movie was definitely worth seeing at least once. The suspense was there, and you just didn't know what was going to happen next, AT ALL.

People were protesting about the movie outside our theatre because of one of the scenes; they complain to the manager everyday almost about that movie.

It was so scary for some people that someone threw up even; I almost stepped in it. :P

Lolchristians.

I think all this stupid hype that has come up like "its so scary nobody wants to see it twice" is just a really stupid and overused (free) marketing plan. They are just manipulating people on the internet in the same way that the Blair Witch Project did to get attention.

You really can't particularly compare this to any other movie. It has the same atmosphere as the Blair Witch Project, but it was nothing like it. Just sitting in the movie theatre clueless as what you are about to watch (As the previews show basically nothing) and wait till it unfolds.

It wasn't a movie that was like, "DID YOU SEE THAT OMG!!!!111," it was just shocking for it's eerie and creepy atmosphere, making you ponder as to what happened, or what will.

Is it a masterpiece?, no, but it is one of those little could-be gems of the horror genre.

What happened in the scene that was so bad that people had to protest? If you don't want to say it because of spoilers, can you PM me and tell me what happens?

I believe ghosts are real, but that they're not just trying to scare the fuck out of you or kill you. That's kind of a ghost stereotype.

It seems really funny, not the movie but watching the audience screaming at nothing.

I saw it last night along with probably half of my senior class who just happened to be there as well. It was pretty creepy at times, but I don't think it has enough to be classified as the "scariest movie of all time." Overall though, I enjoyed it.

The trailer is shamefully bad, but the movie exceeded my expectations. It's not just a bunch of cheap, shitty haunted house style tricks.
The filmmakers deserve props for what they did with the low budget. It feels like a creepy home video gone wrong and it's more believable than most of the cgi shitfest in the horror industry.

Didn't think it was scary, but it was creepy. It will also make you hate the wind even more for blowing doors shut.

Agreed.

I saw it last week at a midnight showing. It's very good. I think the audience's reactions made the experience more memorable. Some screamed at moments, and I could hear a lot of uneasy noises and talking. I was also on the edge of my seat, although I knew the scares were coming. What partly makes the film suspenseful is the naturalistic acting, like how the couple, who are mainly the only characters, react to their surroundings. Even if I knew the scares were coming, they were unpredictable as to where they would actually come from and they could just be little things. Aside from a couple of quibbles I have with the film, it's brilliant, and it's also proof that films don't need big budgets to be entertaining.

I saw it. And it's pretty good, I liked it. It's not like your typical scary movie that comes out today. Reminds of the blaire witch project actually lol

One of the girls I know who was there vomited in the middle of the film.

Saw it twice, amazing movie. It's nothing like a hollywood based movie. *Spoilers* You never actually see what's causing all this chaos*...barely any CGI..at least not until the end.

By the way, theres an original ending, and two alternates...the one alternate being made by Steven Spielberg and is the one you see in theaters.

Favorite horror movie, and probably one of my scariest, mainly because I went in there not knowing what was going on and thinking it was a REAL movie up until the end. I didn't sleep afterward.

If anyone wants to know the other two endings, that the director had originally intended...PM me.

Don't believe the hype. IMO, I didn't find it one bit scary.

Saw it. Was kind of turned off by it being called the "Blair Witch Project of it's time" mostly because when I saw the BWP I was like 9 and I didn't know it was fake. Now I'm over double that age and I know it's fake, but still, it was good for what it was and how long/how much it took to make. It was certainly a lot of "scare you with loud noise," but I did jump a few times. No nightmares, though. But I really did like the acting, if that means anything to you guys. They really portrayed a good couple.

Went to see it Thursday night and was going with my boyfriend and my best friend.

The only theater that has times other than midnight was one I never really had been to and I guess they ALWAYS check I.Ds.

My best friend didn't have hers on her and despite were all 19 and adults, we couldn't buy her a ticket so we went home.

I'm going to attempt to see it another night.

If I were tied up, would you ring my bell?
