I don't feel the need, all the children that would have bought it will have spent their pocket money on MW2, i doubt L4D2 will be in as high of a demand as it would be if it came out at a better time.

I'll never have a game pre-ordered. I've done it once in the past on Two Worlds which looked like it was going to be an amazing game. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not one of the people who thought it was a horrid game, I actually rather like it. The frame rate issue and laggy multiplayer was a little annoying though.

I won't be pre-ordering Left 4 Dead 2. I will probably buy it at some point, but I prefer to watch plenty reviews and gameplay footage before I buy anything.

Currently the only company that I trust enough to pre-order from is Bethesda. They haven't let me down at all in the past.

after borderlands/mw2 and my nearly month long addiction to halo 3/odst i'll be pretty tired of shooters by the time it comes out

not to mention i wasn't a huge fan of the original l4d so i'll pass on it for now

i'll probably end up picking it up sometime though

The demo for preorderers is October 27th the demo to the public is probably November 11th

Just figured out demo for the Public is november 3rd :P
"Those who pre-order the game (at participating retailers or via Steam) will obtain early access to the demo on October 27. The demo will then be made available to Xbox LIVE Gold members and all PC gamers on November 3. Then all Xbox LIVE members will obtain access to the demo on November 10"

I'm going to put L4D2 aside for the time being. I thought L4D was good but not great and I don't feel like spending £27 on the sequel. The pre-order features aren't enough to convince me to get it and besides, I've been having unexplained problems with Source engine games and I know L4D2 will be no exception to that, so no point in spending that much money on a game that's going to work like shit. Maybe when my issues are solved and whenever the game is on sale, I'll think about getting L4D2 then but I don't have high expectations for it.

Also, I've had bad experience with pre-ordering games. I've done it three times. Twice was over the internet and it was delayed by weeks because of a shipping error both times. The other time, the game was very popular and stocks ran out for three weeks, and I couldn't buy it elsewhere because I paid a hefty deposit.

Might buy it when it comes out though, depending on reviews.

pre-order via steam, you won't have delivery problems. a couple of days before release they stick it up for download.

I preordered it a week ago. Normally don't give a damn about getting a game the day of release, but the bonuses of preordering seemed pretty nice ($5 off, in-game bat, early demo).

What bugs me is that the Gamestop employee whom I preordered from didn't know anything about getting the demo early. I don't know if he was just ignorant or disingenuous so that he could hand-out less demos and sell them elsewhere. I've heard bad things about Gamestop, which one reason why I rarely shop there, but I didn't know of any other store that offered the deal.

Anyway, I'll go back on the 27th with my receipt and see if I can get the demo.

As I say in every second thread, that issue is irrelevant. L4D2 has been allowed classification in Australia, it is no longer banned. It's just toned down and apparently Gabe has plans to release a patch that unlocks the gore.
