Dreams of an Absolution - Bentley Jones.
Yes, this is from that godawful pile of ass known as the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog. However, I still think it's a pretty good song. Plus, it's basically Green Hill Zone in disguise.
Very good songs to listen to.

I'd agree with The Funeral by Band Of Horses being a good sadish song. When You're Gone, Zombie and Linger by The Cranberries are also pretty good in that general area. If You Tolerate This Then Your Children Will Be Next by Manic Street Preachers tends to be pretty sad. This acoustic one is pretty good as well. David Usher's cover is also very good and pretty saddening due to the generally depressing melancholic tone.

This also is a pretty depressing instrumental. On that note, Depache Mode's Enjoy The Silence sometimes sounds a bit sad to me. Especially the piano cover of it with the original singer's voice still singing it.

Either A Day in Life by the Beatles (especially when you know that it's about how Lennon's mother was killed) or Videotape by Radiohead (the song that has been playing in my head over and over and over again)
