3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsI am terrible about doing this. I will hide something, whether it be a lighter, a bad report card, or whatever, somewhere in my room, and then within mere hours, forgetting where I hid it.
Just this morning I hid a black and mild somewhere and I can't find it worth fuck! Does anyone else have any problems with this? Any solutions?
Personal experiences are welcome.
Isn't it funny how its always hidden in the last place you look....

I did this with a Gamestop giftcard that had alot of money on it. I remember I hid it somewhere that I'll know where it is, and where I thought it was, it wasn't.
That was a year and a half ago and I just recently found it when I was going through my computer manuals.
I respond to every message!
Follow these three steps (if you're a decent visual memory person):
- Look at the spot you're going to hide the item
- Place object
- Look at the spot where you're hidden the item
When I place pretty much anything anywhere, I kindof subconsciously take a mental snapshot of the surroundings. I don't think the process is all that difficult, I guess I'm just lucky enough to do it automatically. Train yourself to remember where you've put things, keep a system and stick with it. Alternatively, you could just ALWAYS hide certain things in certain places. So you know you always keep lighters under your mattress, always keep the porno mags in the manilla envelope taped to the back of your dresser's drawers, etc.
I usually don't forget where I put something unless I'm too messed up during that time, but that's because I have a very photographic memory.
My advice is to follow Evark's advice, it is solid enough to prevent this from happening again, you just have to make sure you put forth the effort of remembering, always conscious.
What you should do now that you've already forgotten is backtrack in your mind everywhere you've been since you last remember having it, and hopefully along the way you'll find it.
Good luck!

I do that all the time. When I put my wallet or camera somewhere, I always think "I'll put it here so I know where it is", and then I spend half an hour looking for it the next day.

Stupidest fucking comment. He's not gonna keep looking after he finds it, now is he?
Black and Milds are shit anyway. No loss.

It's probably a good idea to have certain designated hiding places that you can go to and likely find the item you hid. Makes it less confusing that way. Or stop hiding things. You can also be attentive when you hide things so you can recall better where you hid them.
The sig that I'm wearin? Awesomely made by Skaren!
Also, I like annoying Americans by calling English football "real football" and American football "rugby".-Lost-Chances
