cigarette ads, but alcohol commercials appear on alot of channels that kids (Fox, Discovery, etc...) watch?
just curious because alcohol is one of those "forbidden" things children should never drink, according to watchdog parent companies.

Alcohol does cause cause cancer, but booze isn't as bad as tobacco. Plus there's no second hand smoke or any of that jazz with drink.

Because you can drink alcohol with little or (possibly) no ill effects. You can't say on a tobacco commercial "Please smoke responsibly." No matter how much you smoke you're still doing untold damage to your body. With alcohol, your liver can process it in small amounts with no negative consequences.

True, alcohol does cause cause cancer, but not as bad. Smoking also hurts the other people around them.
