fanboys are ruining gaming.
It's true. I never really say "OMGITSTHEBESTEVER" about a game. I just say If i like it or not and if it's worth the cashed i paid for it.
Well, I do say that about a lot of the games I play, but at least I dare to play something else, and see if it's just as good (and since I've got a very short attention span, that next game will be just as awesome). Like right now, Lufia 2 is the best game ever!
But I do know what the OP's talking about. Thanks to people being overly zealous towards certain genres, the big studios keep cranking out games that are barely any different from other games. To be honest, I can barely tell a difference between CoD and GoW, to me, they're just generic WWII FPS's. And I don't understand why they keep making 'new' games like that. Of course, those transgressions pale in comparison to sports games. It seems that most of the big name games try to appeal to the hardcore gamers referenced above, since that's where the most money is, and little effort is put into 'new ideas', resulting in an explosion of shovelware that, honestly, probably has more potential to be great games than the 'high-end' games.
