get a linux it is like a mac without the nice pictures

Get Windows. Trust me a lot better than macs.

This is obvious, find one that's suited to your needs and wants. Can't help any further than that other than try the Apple store and check the specs. You can probably a decent comp for under $1500.

You don't recommend personal computers? Wait, why are you even thinking of getting a new PC when you recommend others don't?

I hate it when people's computers 'break', so they get rid of it all together. Even though in most cases, it's just one tiny problem.

You realise that it's probably something tiny that could be fixed for a tenner by a local techie.

Regardless, if I were getting a new mac, I'd probably get This model of iMac. I'd also use my student discount to knock a couple of hundred pounds of and get myself a free iPod Touch <3
