Which type of instruments should I use to accompany the bass in DnB? I have a bass but I don't know what type of synth I should use to play the main melody.

Most DNB songs either use a violin or a comb lead. Anything so harsh that you want to stab your ears will work.

Just curious, what exactly is a "comb lead"? I don't think that name is used a lot and you probably made it up but I suspect you're talking about something with a comb filter?

Anyway thread starter, the emphasis in Drum n Bass is on, well, the drums, and the bass. Usually anything else is secondary, but you can be very liberal about it, it's a quite wide genre. Mostly anything goes as far as I'm concerned, synths and violas and banjos and printers and grass.

personally i like to use a modified organ,, cause you can drop a raggea or dub beat with the dnb, i also think tuned percussion like a marimba, chimes glockenspiel, or wood blocks works well, acoustic guitar works well too

Excuse me I'm a Reason user. I don't know how to communicate anything outside of Reason's bizarre workflow, what I meant is one of the presets using a comb filter. There are a few presets which work great for DnB.

Offense taken.

To the OP, you can use anything you want, it's your song. Only real advice I can give.
