Hi, I was wondering about this rule:

Noncommercial: You may not use this work for commercial purposes unless you make specific arrangements with the artist under another license.

Does this mean you merely have to PM the author for permission or is there a more complicated progress? What would happen if the author let you use his music for free, but changed his minded after you had already released the work with his audio in it?

Thank you in advance. =)

Oh and sorry if this in the wrong forum. I couldn't decide between putting it in this forum or the audio forum.

I think it's as long as there's an explicit permission given to you, you can use it. I'm sorry I don't know any more, this is more of a legal thing than anything. Maybe if there's some lawyers on Newgrounds? :P

I will make you a sig/wallpaper/header.

It means what it says .. You may _not_ use the track for commercial purposes, eg, for something that is supposed to make you money, unless you make a special arrangement with the original author.

If you are using the track in a non-commercial work - which you are allowed to - you have to credit the author properly.

This means that by default you cannot use the audio for commercial work, this doesn't mean it can never be used though. If you did want to use it for commercial work you would be best setting up a contract with the author, you'd need to arrange the pay for them (or none if they don't want anything) and any terms of the deal. This isn't absolutely necessary, but if you didn't you could find yourself in a position where you have to pay royalties because you have no proof they said you could use it.

OK Thanks. I'll have to write up a contract of sorts or something. Thanks again! =)
