If there's a game that's coming out for your console and PC, which do you normally buy it for?

For certain games I prefer the PC versions. I like the 'no clip' and the other cheats you can do easily usually only on PC versions. I like that online play is free, and you don't have a set name for when you go online. Of course, unless you have a gaming pc, you'll take a loss at graphics.

PC is better for FPS games and RTS games and console is better for other stuff. Then again, the
PC version of games can be modded. i have everything I need with the Wii and PC together.

I'd probably only buy the console version of something if it was horribly ported to the PC like Guitar Hero 3 was.

I really only stick to exclusives for consoles. I own a Wii and 360 but I wouldn't dare buy a Madden game for Wii.

I remember playing the Simpsons game for 360 and when my little brother got it for Wii it was completely different.

PC, because it can do everything a console can and more.

The only time I get console versions is if there is no PC version or it is horribly unoptimized(see GTAIV)

Consoles on most FPS/zombie/Platformers. Ever tried an old platformer on a computer? It really sucks. RTS/RPG/misc... for everything else. Since mods and the like.

FPS's are HORRIBLE on controllers, what are you even talking about?

Not to mention that if you wanted to use a controller for some reason you still can on a PC.

Because obviously not everyone likes using a keyboard and mouse for an FPS. That's what I'm talking about, and I'm pretty sure I made that clear in the original post.

And my Xbox doesn't crap as much when playing an FPS.

Actually it's not even an opinion that you can perform better in an FPS with Keyboard/Mouse, it literally is a fact. People actually complain when PC online is linked to Console online for that very reason. And my computer does just fine playing FPS's.

If it's an FPS, PC wins. However, I can't run this gen's games well and I refuse to lower graphics settings. If you don't have a computer designed for playing games, get a 360. Building a PC is more trouble than it's worth, and buying one is just a shitty idea.

I used to all exclusively consoles due to a shitty PC, but since I'm getting a new computer I'm considering getting Operation: Flashpoint on PC instead of X-Box 360.

PC games: Cheaper, but you need a good computer to run them. RTS and FPS are definitly better on PC, unless you want to spent thousands of dollars on a good graphics card and processor to run them at top notch. In general, you are spending more money on the PC than it would cost you to buy a console, games, and accessories in total.

Console Games: A little more expensive, but you can run all of the games at top notch without worrying about lag. Most people who are on LIVE and PSN have good internet connections so every time they play, they rarely lag. As I mentioned before, it's also cheaper to buy a console with games and accessories than it would be to buy a good gaming computer and games. By the end of the day, good PC's would cost over thousand of dollars while consoles would cost less than $500.

I have both a console (Xbox 360), a desktop, and a laptop. My laptop cost $1200 and it`s pretty decent for running games. I still can`t run games at top speed. My 360 on the other hand, can run games perfectly over LIVE and I never have to worry about lag.

To answer your question, I would say console games are better because you never have to worry about lag with them. I do like PC games but you will never be able to run games at top speed without a good PC.

FYI: Modern Warfare 2 got delayed for the PC, it will come out Nov 27. Consoles is Nov 10. This is one reason why consoles are better than PC`s.

I spent around $800 on my computer, it runs all the games I want to play at an awesome FPS (L4D at over 100) and I don't need anything else to use the internet. It's cheaper to have a good pc than have a mediocre PC and a games console. Price is a none issue when comparing consoles and computers.

So release date matters more than, say, gameplay?

Console, mainly because my PC can't handle the specs of the more recent games available.
