Photoshop Competition Idea

I've been thinking for a long time about photoshop competitions on NG, and I finally came up with a good way to go about it. Basically, I want to make a thread in the C&C forum that a base pic or topic would be submitted and voted in by users (to constantly bring in fresh ideas and avoid getting stale) once every two weeks or so and then users could submit up to 3 photoshops for each topic. It would be similar to photoshop phriday. Regular, experienced users on the BBS who are well respected would be voted in as judges and would vote on submissions based on 3 criteria.

Creativity: 1 - 10 points,

Quality: 1 - 10 points,

and Humor: 1 - 10 points,

leaving a grand total of 30 points. The scores would be tallied and the 10 submissions that got the highest votes would give the user that submitted them points. For example, 1st place - 100 pts, 2nd place - 90 pts, etc, and I would make a roster to keep track of these points.

I would appreciate any feedback, be it ideas or letting me know if you'd be interested or not. If enough people are, I'll make the thread and we can get started on the games. What do you guys think?

No, I want to see if people would be interested in the idea before I make a huge thread on it. Base pics, or topics would be submitted to me via pm, and I would put all suggestions in a newspost. Then people would vote on which topic they'd like to see through the comments. That way it's not just me creating them, and NG is getting what it wants to see.

It was fun having the weekly competitions and usually had a decent draw. I wouldn't mind reviving that thread at all.

That's EXACTLY what I was hoping to make Jamoke. How have I never noticed that thread before? Well anyways, most of the guys from the Sig Makers thread are down for the idea, and if the thread got revived, I'm sure more people would jump in as it went along. It's up to you. I've been wanting to do something like this for a while.

That's not necessarily a good thing though. General isn't exactly the crowd you expect to have a somewhat mature competition with. I just posted a thread about it here hoping some regs would see it and throw their two cents in on it. If the actual competitions were held here though, it would definitely just be pages of MS paint cocks.

Yeah, that's true. This is going to be very fun.

What if you ask Tom if he could somehow make it so that winning photoshoppers get a certain amount of store credit, like they do for the monthly writing competition? And also, is this going to be monthly or whatever?
