Because tomorrow NASA is going to launch its ship, carrying a bomb, and it will crash on purpose into one of the biggest craters of the moon.

It won't really affect the shape of the moon, just make the crater deeper. It's too see if there's any major water sources under the moons surface, which was already confirmed that it has water.. but hundreds of thousands of dollars were already invested into the project, so why not blow up the moon?

The moon isn't going to be destroyed.

First off this "bomb" would be so small it wouldn't do any damage at all practically. It is only made for finding water on the moon, not for blowing it out of our sky.

Second, it is pretty awesome. If we find more water on the moon then we can hopefully colonize there one day, which would be awesome.
