I always try to find out how to get my flash on youtube but always end up failing. I export my flash as a .mov and it comes out all compressed and even if I try to upload it to youtube it will still look like shit. I need help here. I own Flash CS4 and a Mac. How do I get my flash on youtube. I see flash on youtube always and wonder how they do it.

Please help.

export movie -> quicktime .mov -> quicktime settings -> video settings -> compression type: animation -> quality high (mess about with it to get best ratio of quality to loading/uploading time -> ok -> sound settings -> format mp4a -> sample rate: 28 KHz -> ok -> export.

You don't bother exporting flashes as video files, Flash sucks at that for some reason. What you do is download a free trial of a decent screen capture program. Open up you flash window, place the screen capture over it, capture it when it plays and save the video file from the screen capture program.

Yup, this is definitely what you want to do. I went through exactly what you were going through, OP. Then finally figured to just use screen capture but since I wanted to make more edits in Final Cut, I screenied the flash but wiht no compression so I could have it at top quality.

Example:
I did this series in flash, screen captured it and posted to youtube.
Halo Mario

I also use Mac, I use Snapz Pro. I'm not sure if there are better screen capture programs because I've used it for a long time but it works great for me.. great choice of compression settings and such, easy to use, etc..
