Design my next tattoo: Zero!

It's that time again, and I need your help Newgrounds!

My birthday is coming up this Sunday and while I know what tattoo I want, I fail at drawing things and am in need of the artistic souls here to give me a hand at making this birthday go smoothly.

Here's what I'm looking for: Zero from A Nightmare Before Christmas, flying- with bats following behind him. I'm getting this on my inner bicep.

Whoever's one I pick will recieve credit in my follow-up thread and will also get a big thanks from yours truly. :)

That, is a truly (and I want you understand that I am putting all my powers of emphasis behind the word truly here) a terrible idea for a tattoo. This is a free country. If you want to turn your body in a failed canvas of poorly thought-out concepts you have every right to do so. I just want to do my neighborly duty an let you know how awful this idea is.

I would feel opposed to taking place in your embarrassing endeavor because I feel that is simply something that you should not do to yourself, no matter how sadistic you are or funny you may think it is to have a character from a animated film tattooed onto you, I think you will really regret it later on in life.

To shed some light on the topic, I loved the movie long before it was ever popular at chains of stores, or present in so many media forms.

I want the tattoo to represent a part of my youth, a retrospec of simpler times if you would.

Honestly, I will still get the tattoo, it's not something I'm getting for shits and giggles, nor would I ever get a tattoo that didn't have meaning behind it..

Seriously though, what are you going to do once you get this tattoo? Show it off? What are you going to say other than "Yeah I got it because I liked 'Nightmare Before Christmas' before the sheep got to it, heh - It has deep meaning, symbolizing the deep impact that film had on me in that I watched it a couple times and it was my favorite as a kid". In honesty though, I would rather hear your story of your tattoo, it sounds riveting, rather than the guy who got a tattoo of like his mom's dying words or something,

Oh yeah, sorry about my post Lotus, but I just thought it was related.

Protip though, Newgrounds doesn't like tattoos as much as other websites. Even my Alien Hominid tattoo was poorly reviewed by the Newgrounds community. Believe it or not, 4chan loved it hundreds of times more than Newgrounds did.

I'd say go for it, and get it, but go to an artist to get it drawn up, not here. Since it appeals to you in some way, and especially a part of your childhood, it's a fucking great idea. Most people aren't stupid enough to get tattoos they'll regret, but for some reason people like to say "Don't do it, you'll regret it!".

Anyway, I fully support you, but it might be hard finding somebody here to draw it up for you.

I actually saw yourbthread on that and thought it was pretty cool. Main problem I really find with people and tattoos is they think try know what is best for the world and fail to realize people can actually get something seen everyday, on their skin, and understand it still had a good deal of meaning to that person.

I'll still be looking forbsomeon to draw it, here or not.. Hopefully someone will just see it as something I'd like for my birthday, and be able to look past the whole 'knowing what's best for me' bs.

I got a tattoo on my chest and I have no regrets. I'm actually planning on getting another tattoo this weekend. Just get something that represents you or has some sort of meaning behind it and you'll never regret. It's a great way to get chicks looking at your body at the beach. (They'll come to you and want to know what they mean etc... :)

Agreed.
While I think it should have some meaning for you personally, it shouldn't have to be this incredibly detailed symbol of whatever the hell it is you're trying to convey. If you like some piece of art you've found or designed and it is special to you in some way, I see no reason beyond that necessary to get it tattooed on your person.
I also think that worrying about "explaining it to your grandchildren" is just stupid. You may die well before then. If you want something, go for it now while you have the opportunity. Just don't do anything stupid like tattoo your face, unless you plan on joining a gang or the circus.

I think the Zero tattoo is a great idea :) That was one of my favorite movies when I was young, and I am still quite fond of it. I cannot draw, so I can't really help you out on a design, but I hope you find someone to make a really nice design for you!
