Is it normal to get an eCPM of like $0.07 cents?
Cause frankly for the amount of hits I have, it's a little ridiculous. Or is everyone else's rates this bad?

Wow, looks like NG is trying to rip you off.
But don't listen to me; I have bad opinions.

I know right?
$2.21 for 30k hits? To get $50 at that rate, Id have to get 800k hits.

eCPM works like a tax, it will take 7 cents for "what it costs to show the ad to one thousand viewers"
I guess it adds up

Oh, time to be more useful.
I've noticed that the submission with the low revenue are the ones you collaborated in, which explains why you got such a low share. Buuuut you probably knew that.
Anyways, to answer your original question, yes. Anywhere from 6~19 is average, but your eCPM is pretty random.

You have to get a lot of Ad Impressions to get money.
I code in AS2, in case I forgot to mention it.

the eCPM fluctuates alot. Generally, games fare alot better than animations in terms of generating revenue. I cant speak for your situation but for all our games, most of the money comes from outside of newgrounds, in other words the clickthroughs have come from foreign game portals etc. NG audience tends to be a bit fickle, so even if your movie is wildly successful here, it probably will do better if you leak it elsewhere. You should do that anyway, the beauty in ad-rev is exposure, you need to get your stuff posted any and everywhere. Games do better because of their replayability and engaging factor.

also, if you actually desire to profit, you might want to find an ad-generating site that supports flash movies. Should make it a lot more worth it for you.

yeah, but you got like 48$ for 220k hits, but at my rate, Id need up to 800k to even touch that.

It's exponential, probably. Mine started out slow, then I was getting like 10 cents per 100 views.

Its impossible to predict. because the ecpm isnt going to stay that way everyday. You might be featured on the Tonight Show suddenly and your ecpm could be astronomically high. Its just a very unstable thing much in the spirit of the internet.

Point being, I understand that rev share is pretty much a joke until you get like 500k views.
Or you get lucky like Nic Deary and score a eCPM of like a $1.00

Its not a joke, its just you have to think of what is 'sticky content' the beauty of those types of things is the ability to have it go all over the web. Thats what the alure of it is for advertisers. Honestly... if you arent like a major name like Egoraptor, i probably wouldnt bother with puttin the api on animations.. i wont do it for any of my movies. Games on the other hand its automatic. Cause if you arent gonna do it someone else will and will make loads off you.
Yea i dunno how he got an eCPM of a buck.. thats pretty insane :P

Maybe it might be the fact that there is no API in the movies cept one Im only the writer of. :p

Because your earnings are so small, meaning that even the tiniest differences are big in the graph. That drop is just from $0.01 to $0.00. The same goes for when you have few impressions, but it's impossible to tell how many you have from that pic alone.
Does anyone know how it works with flash ads when you split the income with other users? For my latest game I need to go to this page to see how it's doing, and it brings in a little bit of money, but none of that is given to us.
