It's my birthday today and I got HL1 for PS2. Problem, my PS2 is age-old (It's the original, not the slimline) and it's giving me a disk-read error. The disk is fine, but PS2 is just so damn dusty.

Anyone have any tips on how to get rid of the dust so I can play it, without taking my PS2 apart?

This happened to me years ago. Suggestions:

1. Buy a slim.

2. Take the entire thing apart, cleaning everything and GENTLY cleaning the lens with a swab.

The problem is it only happens to some games, so it's not completely buggered - I can't throw it away :P

1. Buy a slim.

They don't sell those anymore, the PS3 took over the market.

I may try that if it comes to it, but for now i'd rather keep it together :P

I may be wrong for Britain, but over here in Australia you can get them from stores (such as EB Games) preowned for like... $100... A small bit over priced and all, so you'd be better buying one off Ebay or the local newspaper reader sales section type thing...

Actually, i'm looking for a cheap solution, and they don't sell them anywhere where I live :P
