Simply having intelligence isn't enough. You've got to do something with it that makes you look like you've got confidence. There's all sorts of women though, some value it and some don't. Point is, if you're some creepy reclusive type, that'll out weigh your smarts unless you find another creepy reclusive type.

Being approachable is probably the first thing you need to have going for you and then, after that, anything that makes you seem like a better person that that girl is looking for will help as well. Intelligence comes in handy when a girl isn't doing well at something you are good at and you are willing to help her (not do the work for her, necessarily). Even then its only an in.

You guys need to stop going after the popular girls, it seems.
The girl I'm currently going for is absolutely beautiful, more so than any of the "popular" girls, that's because the popular ones are plastered in makeup and just look hideous. She's also pretty intelligent.

She has a thing for me, too, but she's been having some problems as of late and wants to sort them out.

I'm not particularly good looking, so I agree. The non-popular, non-chavvy girls may well indeed have a thing for guys that are intelligent and funny, over guys who just look good. But more importantly, they want someone that cares.

Of course women are into intelligence, it's just an asset that's not nearly as easy to present as being muscular. Any woman can tell when a guy has a good body, but it takes time to tell that someone's got a sharp mind. You can't just walk up to a woman and start quoting Goethe, you'll seem as egotistical as a guy who walks up to a woman and starts flexing his muscles. You have to have the capacity to approach someone you're interested in and start a genuine conversation. If you're intelligent it will naturally come out.
