Is it just me or does this VSTi seriously lack wave-shaping tools?

Where are the oscillators?

Nexus is a rompler, not a synthesizer. You can only adjust some filter envelopes and add a few effect, but that's about it. The tricky thing about it is being creative. Most people just pick a preset and go.

So basically it's just a lot of effect modules stacked together in a neat white window? Why is that so amazing. Lots of people using FL are praising Nexus.

I use it because it has some great sounds. Great sounds are great.

Mostly that reason. A lot of those "mainstream" sounds are used.

You spent over $350 on a VST you know nothing about?

Probably not. I bet there's a reason he didn't consult a manual.

regardless of how he obtained nexus, it's not the kind of vst you're looking for if you want your own unique sound. Having said that, ReFX DOES have some other good vsts for such purpose.

originality can be achived by the way you use a certain sounds though, not just by what the sound is

many people play piano, some have a more original feel to them

I think it can come in handy to thicken up a sound you have a bit, but that's all for me. I try not to rely on it at all, as I'd rather use a synth I can fully tweak myself. Genesis for example, even though that's a CPU hog.

I dont know having Nexus as a base is pretty handy. For Pro's and noobs. It can really give your song that extra umph your looking for. Ofcourse making your own sound is all and well. But what i do is take a preset and tweak the blood out of it. And then layer a nexus plug-in and viola! Music in pure form :P
