yeah, i've still got my PS3 so i can play CoD4, and a wii that's... pretty much worthless. but i've been itching to play gears.
so, are there any ways to repair it, or is it FUBAR?

You can take it back to the store you got it from if it's still got the warranty. If not, you must send it off to microsoft.

Send it to microsoft, in warranty or not they may fix it for free, also they are the ones that do the leg work.

Heating it with a hairdryer until it overheats, then restarting it will work for a while, but keep in mind that this is a temporary fix.

I wouldn't recommend any solutions that involve you doing anything with the console. The Xbox isn't like an NES. You can't just open it, dust it out and be good to go. You only two options are to send it to Microsoft or fin a local repair center. Sometimes you'll luck out and find a local game shop or electronics store that can do the job for cheaper than Microsoft will. Just be sure you trust them or you'll be sending it in for repairs twice.

You know I got the RRoD Saturday, I traded it in yesterday, and my friend told me that the warranty expired on 9/11/09.

Ship it in for repairs and if it costs money to fix it (if the warranty is expired), either use a payment option or decide not to get an Xbox 360 back.
