I hate it when people say "if you're under 16, that feeling isn't love". Can someone explain how the strength of a feeling towards someone could possibly relate to your age? Why couldn't it be love?
If I were to have strong emotional feelings towards someone based on more than just looks and sexual attraction when I'm 18, why would that same feeling NOT be called love if I were 15?

Because your body and mind are still developing. Your views on said person could change when you grow older.

How could you not get this?

Because you are 12 years old and just discovered masturbation.

This is filler text.

Most people can draw the lines between infatuation, love, and obsession at that age. Most of the time you can't even define what it is you like about the person you are with... and if for some reason you can do all of these things, its not likely to last because you as a person are going to change and have huge tectonic shifts in your life style and means.

People change
if you discover that you like someone for there interests, lifestyle etc the fact is that there is a 60% chance that they will change and only if you could love the same person uncoditionally is it then love but at 16 why would you care ?

Right, that's why I'm in the final year of my GCSEs and I turn 16 next July.

Well, thank you Mr Stereotype.
Although, HollowGrave, you probably have a point about the majority of people.

Sometimes I hate people my age. They always spoil it when I try and argue in their favour.

Wait, so you can love girls when you're 16 and not before? That's pretty sweet.

Well sometimes you won't change and grow mature until your about eighteen...
Especially when you move out of your parent's place and set out to the world on your own two feet.
You can't just casually hang around and sit on your ass all day with your 'girlfriend', because you need to work for your own money and find your own place in the world.

That doesn't make any sense. So, technically speaking it doesn't exist because it's a "complex mixture of biological hormone and brain shit". First of all it's not a complex mixture, it's quite a simple combination of chemicals that gives us that emotion and associated sensations and feelings. But it's what love is. So how can something that we've just defined and identified not exist?

It's another way for adults to control their children by manipulating their feelings and keeping them blind to reality.

Well that I agree with. You should've said that. Nice sign-up date. Your signature inspired a signature I'm making... kind of. Just with the e-mail in there and such.
