Games You Played For Years

What are some games you spent literally years playing, games that never got old and kept you hooked? Games that were actually worth the money?

I spent two years now on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Halo 3, and I can see myself playing Halo 3: ODST and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for probably even longer than that.

I also played Starcraft and Warcraft 3 for more than seven years now, plus six years of Halo PC. I played Age of Empires 2 and the expansion as long as I could remember getting them. Plus Battlefield 2 and its mod Project Reality kept me playing for four years now.

Diablo 2. I don't like how Blizzard doesn't seem to give a crap about it anymore and is more focused on WoW, but Diablo 2 is and always will be epic. Sure it might be repetative after a while, but it never gets old. Atleast to me and hundreds of thousands of people anyway.

And, I have been playing Megaman games for as long as any other game, on short bursts since I was a wee tyke. Other than that just the game of the month, which right know is Dead Space.

I can understand that. Absolutely amazing game. The original was far better than all the titles that followed. The single player seemed to be never ending and getting some mates over to fool about on the multiplayer was always fun.

I also can't pin it down to a single game, but the TimeSplitters series took up a lot of my time when I was younger. Those games were just so much fun, and like Red Faction, was even more fun when you had some mates over to play the multiplayer.

Before all these online features became standard, multiplayer gaming was better better in some ways, as you were actually sitting in the same room as your friends and having a laugh.

Countless years playing Unreal Tournament '99
I've been playing Guitar Hero/Rockband games since they came out.
Gears of War 1+2 since they were released.

Well I played Pokemon Gold for a few years, then the internal battery died, so I moved to Silver and played that for a few more years. Now I have Platinum.

Although I have been replaying Majora's Mask very often every once and a while...
