I used this for my new sig, and look what happened! Instead of giving me a new one, it stretched out the old one! what can i do?

When you're searching for something online, you should consider your resources first and foremost. Search engines, such as google, are typically the best starting point. Now, consider what you're looking for in your search. You want to edit images, you probably want it free, aaand you want something recommended. "recommended free image editor" will probably yield the results you want in google. From there, it's just a little bit of research.
