I don't think there's any shame in talking about or admitting this, for those of you have told this guy to "man up" or "lock the thread". I think it takes a bigger man (mentally, rather than physically) to own up to this kind of thing than someone who's prepared to diss that person over a public forum.
It seems to me that it's a reasonably common problem in both males and females.
I've gone through it a couple of times, most notably for me at a U2 concert, where there were around 50 urinals in the toilets at the stadium I was at, and a queue of people behind each urinal. What made it worse there, was that there were drunken women coming in and out of the place as well - peeing on demand in public view is un-nerving, I would imagine, for a lot of people.
I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you start having difficulties when peeing in private, then go to the doctor and explain your symptoms, because prostate cancer (and other illnesses) is not something you'd want to end up with, left undiagnosed.
