is paramore good?

well,I mostly listen to clasic rock and 80's metal,so my kind of music is AC/DC,black sababth,metallica,etc etc

now the other day a friend of mine told me about paramore and I thought I'd look em up, I found their song emergency and I was fairly hooked for it,but there's something about them that makes me go "eh.....don't know if I like them or not"

so I'll have to listen to some more of their stuff,but my question for everyone is are they good or not?

now PLEASE don't simply say "they're shitty" or "they're awesome" actually get into some detail and describe a bit about them,

so....yay or nay?

paramore are pretty damn big now, and have been for quite a while. they also just released a new album, so you may find yourself prefering their older stuff, or their newer stuff, just not both.

personally, i really like them, plus haley williams is fit so, yeah.

ive got tickets to see them play at wembley in december, its all good =p

To my surprise, I found I actually like a good bit of Panic at the Disco songs.

And Paramore is cool in my book, any singer featured in a song by Say Anything is a singer I need to listen to.

well,I have heard of them but no one's really told me "oh they're cool" and whatever,in my OP I mentioned that I pretty much listen to old man music so that probably has something to do with it

I'm not going into detail about a band which you can just listen and decide for yourself, but I will tell you this, I'm into 80's metal/modern day metal too and I can dig Paramore from time to time.

Well for me it's Haley who stands out in the band, her singing is phenomenal. As for the rest of the band the guitar is just average for me, no solos or anything, but not bad in any sense. The drummer is pretty talented, definitely above average, and I can barely hear their bass so not much to it I guess...

Anyways if I were you I'd check out their album Riot, because for me it was better than their first album, so yeah, I'd check it out.

Since when has metallica become classic rock? They're your standard, run-of-the-mill metal band. Just like AC/DC is your standard rock band (who really blows imo). If you're going to say you listen to classic rock, at least know what it is. I'm not one to point fingers, but your taste in music is all over the place. You say you like classic rock, then give metal bands, and then say you like paramore? I mean, they're like miley cyrus or some shit like that. Pop is horrible. If you want to check out some real good classic rock songs, check out this list. I found it 3 or 4 years ago, and I found some of the best stuff out there on here. Check it out.

You're right. They REALLY blow. I mean it's not only terrible music, it's just their attitude. Who wants to see a bunch of hard-asses with too much testosterone dress up like schoolgirls and sing god-awful songs about "rock and roll" or shit like "rock on". I know I don't. I could go on and on about why they suck, but I think I'll leave it at that.

I say yes! After listening to some song samples a couple days ago, I bought their newest album off of iTunes. I'm constantly going back to the music right now to replay my favorites. Probably at the top of my list is Brick By Boring Brick. Their older, more popular music is good too, but they've definitely improved since then. Emergency was pretty much my favorite song ever for a while... something about one of the vocal effects made me feel connected to everything in the universe...

Of course, my friends are going >8C at me and refusing to believe anything mainstream could ever be good, but if you like the music, just take whatever they throw at you for it and listen!
