My friend Kyle just turned 18 at 12:00 am this morning.

Some of our neighbors in the dorm building came over and we had shots to celebrate. We all gave him 18 punches on his arm, as the birthday tradition goes.

Then he said, "you know how you get punched 18 times for your birthday? I wish I could lose my virginity 18 times."

He has told me on numerous occasions that he and his girlfriend have had sex.

It's not really a big deal to still be a virgin at 18, that's my age and it's still a minority of people I know who have lost it. Maybe at 30 or late 20s it's something to be embarrased about but not while you're still a teenager.

Are you sure he meant it in that way? As far as the wording goes, it just sounds like he wishes that he could get fucked like a virgin eighteen times for his birthday. I'm not experienced in that area myself, but I can imagine the first time is a unique experience in itself. I don't know, you'd have to think about what happened later, or not: it probably doesn't really require that much thought. As for being a virgin at eighteen, there's nothing wrong with that at all (I can talk, I know), but I understand that it's a little odd considering he's mentioned it before.

You know what, I say just shrug it off. It was probably just a one-time gaffe that will never be mentioned again, with a punishment of awkwardness.

Losing your virginity in all aspects, isn't really important. What is tho, is the so called "rite of passage" that men and women are pressurized into passing nowadays before they are officially "cool" or "adult" in the eyes of their younger peers. If your friend is a virigin at 18, so what? I was one till I was that age. I didn't want to get thrown in jail for underage sex (even tho the slogan back where I'm from is "if theirs grass in the Infield, play ball"; Oklahoma, what a great state). So I waited. But my point being, who cares. Don't shit him about it. If you aint bedded a woman, you'll go through that rite of passage too, and so will your children.

True, also it sounds like the OP's friend just said he'd like to lose his virginity 18 times, meaning he'd like to have that experience back, it doesn't necessarily mean he admitted to being a virgin.
