the most widly used is flash (thus the flash forums) for its ease of use, and wide availability. Although it is a high level program, which means its not as powerful as some other languages

What do you mean exactly when you say that flash is high level?

its made using another programing language, which was made by another one etc... and its much higher level then machine language

Flash covers the basics. If you're good enough it looks intensely professional. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe the band the gorillaz made a few of their music videos in flash.

It's called just flash and it's made by adobe. The latest version is CS4. However the program has been using AS3 since CS3... which is just a good imo and you can find a lot cheaper. Really, I suggest you continue your research through Google. If you had typed any of those questions in it would have given many answers in much more depth than any of us can go into.
