Requeim for a Dream (or something)

I just watched a movie at my buddy's place called Requeim of/for a Dream, or something.

It literally made the drugs seem not bad at all, which really bothered me.
I know it was made as a video to show in school and rehabilitation centres but it still seems as if a person seen this movie it would make them want to experience the high.

It did show the negative of it though, but not so much.
It definitely changed my outlook on drugs though.

If we're thinking of the same movie, losing an arm, coming down off drugs in prison, and doing sexual favors/shows for drugs seems pretty negative to me.

As long as you don't drink at a young age and don't get drunk too much it's okay, if you're young though it isn't good for the parts of your brain that need to grow. That and teenagers are fucking stupid when drunk.

Not much of an opinion on smoking, though with out it you could probably live a little longer and not let all your senses dull up too much.

The novel and the movie are a bit different..but neither really glorify drug use at all.

I don't know, I think it's serious that one ends up in prison, one ends up in a prison hospital with most of one arm missing, one being insane due to delusions and hallucinations and one engaging in sex to afford more drugs.

Then again, I'm not a complete dipshit so you may interpret the negative ending as something massively positive if you get your rocks off to having only one arm, having a black guy (don't worry, you can scream how black people ruin society but DON'T YOU DARE SAY THE N WORD) behind you in the prison showers with a hard-on, forced to have sex in positions you don't like (bondage with less willingness and rape with a positive besides the HIV test) or being, basically, schizophrenic.

seeing Sara Goldfarb hallucinating in her hospital bed; the perfect moment where she was with her succesful (and fully limbed) son in her red dress she spent the whole movie trying to get into; it is, perhaps, one of the most depressing endings i've ever experienced watching a movie.

The movie wasn't so much about how Heroin is bad but rather the power of addiction. I mean if the movie just told the story of the three main character who did Heroin then you could say drug are bad; however you have Sara's story where she has become an addict to weight loss drugs.

It really begs the question of how far will you go to satisfy your wants, and how you can fall in to a trap in you let them take control.

although true that it has the same meaning as to what they want you to get whilst in school or rehab, but it's not really the way they want to show you, espescially in a school environment, they are much too worried about your "mental well-being" and would much rather tell stories about how, "little jimmy took too much weed"
