I do guys, I admit it, I have an unhealthy obsession.
You all know my obsession, with Kurt Cobain.
For the past 12 months I've been crying myself to sleep at night over him.
I am in tears every time I concentrate on his music.
I feel like killing myself every day because of how depressed I am over him.
I feel gay as fuck for having such a passion for a man, but the things he had done in his life are breath-taking. And I wish I could have gotten the chance to see him perform. That would be my life goal if they existed.

I don't know what's wrong with me. I want to blow my own head off all because he just did. Not to imitate him and follow his footsteps. But because that is just how much he has impacted my life, and how much he means to me... What should I do guys? Seriously.

He was a druggy who played in a rock band, what's so breath-taking about him?

Take more life advice from a drug-abusing, suicidal idiot. Really, nothing could go wrong.

He's not a fucking hero. He's an idiot. Suicide takes away all options. I kind of respect him because he had balls, to try and make a statement. But get over it.

Yeah, that's all you know about him.
Read about him, read about him as much as I have, listen to his stories as much as I have, enjoy his music as much as I have. He changed my life more than anything ever could.

Read about him

I certainly have read a fair amount of information about his background and his past, and while he was an interesting personality wise. There's not a whole lot to look up to him about, he was just a drug addict who had nothing going on for him until Nirvana released Bleach in the late 80's., then of course Nevermind. I used to think the guy was fucking awesome a few years back, a very gifted man who I as well looked up to. But he died miserable and alone, he's not a god.

I suggest you give up this teen angst nonsense and find a new role model.

I think losing all your limbs would impact you more.
Or meeting the supreme being, if that's what you're into.

He blew his brains all over his wall with a shotgun, I think he didn't want to be obsessed over by some 17 year old if he did that now go listen to some real rock like Lynyrd Skynrd or some other classic rock.

Just be thankful he ever existed, and that he grew to enough fame that you know about him.

He's more of a legend now, than a worn out old man that he would have been.

...it's better to burn out than to fade away.

RAWR.

You should kill yourself. Not because you miss him or whatever, but because the last thing we need is another Kurt Cobain-hugging hippy. I hope you suck his dick in hell. OK, JK about that last statement.

There is a song title I love from a completely different band that goes;

"Good to Know That If I Ever Need Attention All I Have to Do Is Die"

This reminds me well of the late Kurt Cobain.

They weren't the greatest band ever, they had a couple of very good songs, but he blows out his brains then all of a sudden he's this amazing misunderstood artist who was too good for us.

No, he was just another depressed guy who took the easy route out, but thanks to that he's ensured kids who never even knew the band when they were around will still be seen in the standard Nirvana hoodies just because the lead singer killed himself.

There are better idols to worship, better dead ones too.

second.

To rather to 'burn out than fade away' should be evidence enough that he is not obsession worthy. It shows that he couldn't handle to ghost away. It is an unhealthy obsession being that its this guy who prolly couldn't even handle being the object of your obsession.

You came for advice. I think to sum up, realize that he is anhero, not a martyr, but a shadow leaning against the wall. Snap out of it and worship yourself.
