These things have been on literally every single Flash Portal view page I've clicked on today.

Not only are they annoying as hell but I think they're causing the Flash movies to reset themselves too... I installed Adblock to get rid of the video ads and afterwards the Flash movies played normal again.

I realize Tom isn't responsible for this but holy crap these ads are obnoxious.

i feel incredibly sorry for your attention span if you think the 700 x 90 (thereabout?) pixel ad banners are so distracting you feel the need to go out of your way to block them on every page you go to. also, are the minus 1 second it takes to load the ads really making a difference to your browsing?

macro refreshing and constantly clicking won't make a difference, it's actually viewing the ads as a whole that helps fund this and all other sites that are funded by adverts. it's like you going to work every day and your boss decides to not pay you because he's tipexed out your name on the spreadsheet.

This thread is about the video ads playing on the Portal view pages, not the static banners everywhere else.

That's what happened to me UNTIL I installed Adblocker -- then everything worked just fine.

I'm also not the only person this is happening to... if you check the most recent reviews of a number of the more-popular Flash entries then you'll see several people complaining about their games or movies randomly restarting too.

i use a mac so i dont get any ads at all....burn

That's legit, but there are people form an angry internet mob and complain that ads are taking over Newgrounds every time something like this happens. Users should have faith in the staff doing what's best for the site.

Also that resetting thing didn't happen to me.

I know Ng needs money, but video ads are taking it too far, I don't mind if you puut 5 times more ads than there are now, just no audio ones, because Ng comprises of mostly stuff with some form of audio in it, this will make things a bit... confusing if you're in audio portal and you hear this.

This is a site providing you free music,games,art, and short movies.

You should at least show some appreciation by just not having adblocker, you don't even have to look at the ads, as long as they're there, NG makes money.

I'm fuckin' pissed. The ads got on my nerves right away... but i figured hey.... NG is great quality.... a fucking ad here and there talking about bullshit is fine. But recently, while trying to play games, the flash i am currently viewing/playing will RESTART once the bullshit advertisement finishes. Pretty fuckin annoying...
