and I must say I just LOVE IT :D

The speeds of the OS is just perfect! I did have quite a grudge against use of Konqueror as a browser, especially do to becoming pre-loaded with unremovable ad blockers software, which makes Newgrounds want to replace the ads with HATE.

Plus it wants to make the text box where I type turn WHITE, so I can barely read what I type. I obviously swicthed it over with Opera 10 instead :3

Its great to really get rid of all my unnecessary clutter on the old Hard Drive and really save a lot of space, cause I couldn't erase half the old programs I had.

I really suggest you make a switch to a distro of Linux, its really quite enjoyable, I used to be a Fedora user for quite a while, but (K)ubuntu is really much better.

I am dual-booting Ubuntu 9.10 and Vista. Love it.

Kubunto uses KDE instead of GNOME

Basically, everything is albeit different, which is also why all the programs kubunto has starts with a K

Yeah, all Linux Distro's use either KDE or Gnome.

While some differences are synthetic, the way the GUI works is also slightly tweaked.

And yes, everything that can have a K in it will.

When you look at your programs its all stuff like Konqueror
nd your contact manager is Kontact
the snapshot taker is KSnapShot
The torrent program is KTorrent etc.

Meh. I almost switched over to Ubuntu a few months back, but I didn't like the demo on the disc they sent me. It kinda sucked.

Have fun with absolutely no games, and no windows programs. And if you do try to run windows programs through Wine, enjoy slowest response time possible.
Makes a good use of an old computer, though. I tried Ubuntu Feiisty Fawn, and I only spent 2 hours trying to find out why my sound/other hardware wasn't working. Fixed that, and found out that my Ubuntu didn't recognize my disk drive at all, and I switched back to XP. Recently though, I tried Mint Gloria, which was a heaven in comparison with Ubuntu (preinstalled codecs, no dependency hell, etc). Unfortunately, it all reflected on the overall speed of the OS, and after I found out that none of my hardware (printer, controllers, tablet) worked, I switched back to XP.

Well, its good I don't really need any games, since I never had any in the first place, and I never really needed windows programs, there are other alternatives on the internet. Plus you really underestimate Linux, some distros really can be a totally different experience from the other, its really a good idea to try a lot before you generalize them all.

I may get some distros with the LiveCDs, which means before you install it you can try it on the computer, toy around with it, and if you dont like it, it will revert back to your old OS, nothing lost, and if you want to install it, you can do that too :D

LiveCDs are a waste of time in my opinion. I installed all my distros in Windows, so I could revent whenever I want to. I don't underestimate Linux, I just don't enjoy it.
