Years more than half over, and with fall bout here...
Well, screw it. 9 months, tons of albums. Any of them catch your ears' attention??

There's lots of albums (that may be overrated) that I'm thinking of checking out (Green Day, Black Eyed Peas, Animal Collective, Dethklok, Jay-Z), but honestly the one album I hold higher in regard than all others so far is Lily Allen's It's Not Me, It's You. Gay as that makes me, she's cool.

I was listening to some songs from Dethkloks new album earlier, it sounds okay but it's not the best they've done in my opinion.

From the three tracks out from Say Anything's new album, I can guarantee its gonna be my favorite.

It would have already been out by now, but they keep pushing it back. >=(

Same here. Actually, it would either be Lily Allen's It's not me, Regina Spektor's Far or Metric's Fantaisies. So far, the winner would be the last one. This has been a pretty unusual year for me musically, cause until maybe 2008, I wasn't a fan of female voices, but those three really impressed the hell out of me.

Though there are a couple that pop to mind as serious contenders, like Sonic Youth's The Eternal, Neko Case's Middle Cyclone and The Decemberists' The Hazards of Love. Green Day on the other hand, while releasing an above average album, really disappointed me. Their latest felt like a re-hash from American Idiot, only even more popier and repetitive...

My favorite so far is United States by Paul Gilbert & Freddie Nelson. My other favorites are Merriweather Post Pavillion by Animal Collective, Albino Slug by Buckethead, Crack the Skye by Mastodon, and The Ocarina of Rhyme by Team Teamwork. I still have yet to check out the newest Porcupine, Buckethead, Behemoth, Megadeth, Muncipal Waste, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, and They Might Be Giants albums. It's a pretty good year for music in my opinion though.

I only discovered Regina Spektor this year, and I want her album hehe.

There are lots of albums this year I wouldn't mind looking into, as well as albums from the past decade or so. The thrills of having my own money to spend.

...Wasn't that made 2 years ago? It was called Riot I thought...

Anyways my favorite was probably... Ugh not very many albums this year that I bought. Maybe Octahedron by The Mars Volta.

I almost had this one on my list, but I only felt that it was better than the last two albums, but nowhere as good as Frances the Mute.

It's a toss up between Evisceration Plague, Wrath and Endgame.

Matt & Kim's Grand Album.

That song, Daylight, is on it.
You've probably heard that one.

If I'm not mistaken, they've just released one called Brand new Eyes.

I'm not sure if they will make an album as amazing as Frances the Mute again, it was just too damn good, but we can always hope.

The news of them going back to ATDI may say otherwise...

OBVIOUS ANSWER ALERT!

For me, it's been 311's album Uplifter. Now to be honest, I wasn't thoroughly impressed with the album at first. However, after playing it back a few times, it seems that every song has a resonation point to it. Is it 311's best work to date? I wouldn't say so to tell you the truth. However, I was impressed with the results.

They (the creators) went on tour with Mastodon, who are also a band whose album i want. Ain't nothing wrong with a fictional band making music.
