Mass Effect for 360, its cheap and has a excellent story. For DS? Castlevania games are good, but the new Mario and Luigi RPG just came out, they're always great.

Elder Scrolls Oblivion is great along with fallout 3, GTA 4 is always a good choice and if you like JRPG's and are up for the challenge try lost odyessey

'Action games with good plot'? Fallout 3 comes to mind, maybe Mass Effect, haven't played that though so I'm not sure.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

Get ODST. Just came out a few days ago and it seems to have a good story since most of the Halo games do. Also its a good change from the normal linear aim and shoot that Halo 1, 2, and 3 are. Also you get fire fight which is a big plus :D.
Or if you feel like waiting a month get Borderlands when it comes out on October 20th. Very original game.
