Hey guyz, I've been having a bit of a problem creating a decent electronic bass line (could be coz i am stuck with laptop speakerz) anyone care to share a tip or two about how to go about building it.. like for example: what sound shapes? VST Instruments? effects? ect.. any help and pointers are ALWAYZ appreciated! =]
btw check out the bass line transition in my remix of "6 little eggs by DJ Teequee" to see what i mean... kinda sux =/

I've found that a good place to start for a pretty in-your-face bassline (perhaps TOO in-your-face) is a plain old saw waveform (maybe a tiny bit of something else thrown in, or a rounded off square which sounds similar) at a pretty low octave. This is pretty close to a Benny Benassi bass for how quick it is to make (open 3x Osc, osc1 = saw, osc 2 = white noise at 10% maybe? more or less done).
A less disruptive but "phatter" bass I've not really looked into "making", per se, but there's a lot of synth plugins out there with great presets for that kind of thing.

If you are just starting, prolly best to just use a preset from nexus or something, unless you feel you can use osx thingo, i suck with it, otherwise use boobass lol and set the bass to max and treble low and mid low. Thats what i did when i was a noob anyhow

As far as making a powerful bass, I could recommend the VST "sumo". It's great for making any sound fat.
Strychnine and cyanide. A healthy part of this complete breakfast.
