1. It's an image board. Nothing more, nothing less.
2. Surprisingly so, 4chan has been known to steal stuff and claim it as their own.
3. 4chan is not the internet. The internet providers are the internet.

With these three key rules, you too can lead a healthier internet lifestyle!

Okay, so far the only things that are anywhere close to a solution are:

I lurk on there alot actually. My boyfriend think it's stupid and he hates to think about the fact I go on there. Generally in /b/ and /gif/, I got there for humor, random threads, and I guess some times for porn.

I don't see the big deal. 4chan and especially /b/ has a horrid rap sheet for a lot of things actually but it doesn't mean everyone on there is a fat and ignorant prick who masturbates to CP and hacks forums.

Just leave him be. That shows that your not the best friend in the world to him if you think that just because he does something you dislike, that you shouldn't be friends anymore or see him as the person he's always been.

See this person is intelligent. Just because some of us go to 4chan, or specifically /b/, doesn't mean we are all horrible people. I mean it usually means we have a horrid sense of humor but that is about it. I have been going there for about I would say, 4 years or so and most of friends who go to /b/ never knew I went tell they looked over my shoulder and looked at my screen and they were like, "Is that /b/?!?!?" So the point is just cause /b/ has a bad rep doesn't mean it is full of a bunch of pedo's and hackers. And about your friends attitude. If his going on /b/ doesn't affect your friendship in life, I don't know what the big deal is. I know people who go to /b/. I go there myself sometimes. You shouldn't try to get him to stop going to /b/ if he isn't a changed person. From what I can tell, he's been going there a while, which means that he was going there before you found out, which means that you two we're perfectly good friends even while your friend lurked in 4chan. I don't see any reason why life can't just continue as is.
