(I smoke about a pack a day)
Smoking is relaxing, When you haven't smoked for a while (depends on how much you smoke each day) A cigarette will make you feel relaxed, Calm, and focused.
Of course, If you hadn't started smoking in the first place, you wouldn't need to smoke to get that feeling, but withdrawal from smoking fucking sucks.
The cause for people starting, at least for me, was that I smoked while drinking and loved it. And then there was peer pressure, at first, I just got my friends to give me cigs, but wound up buying packs myself.
I don't only smoke for the "high".
I love how the smoke feels, going down. It's like a warm, ethereal massage of my throat and lungs.
But it is an annoying addiction. I keep justifying not quitting, when I know I should.
But fuck it. You only live once, why drag it on?
