I really don't think the five star system on Newgrounds is horrible as Youtube's. The huge difference between NG's and Youtube's is that voters are able to remove content they don't like and that makes all the difference.

I, if rarely vote, on Youtube movies because there is no point; where as, here on NG, where I can improve my voting power and affect voting score, I vote often because I can drive the score up or down as I see fit. You can see that most of the movies in the Top 50 on NG are deserving to be there, where as the Top Rated videos are just over hyped garbage.

I think the problem with YouTube voting scale is that voter's are more apathetic to rating where on NG is they are a little more careful (even if it's just 0 or 5).

Most people want their vote to have maximum impact, so naturally they vote either the highest or the lowest possible. That's how I vote anyways

yes it does, we should have two buttons, Save or Blam, and the flash, instead of being voted on a score basis should be scored on a Save/Blam ratio, like instead of a score of 4.62, it should be 1,297 Saves/ 38 Blams.

No, because unlike YouTube, NG's voting system has a real impact on submissions. Voting here can actually determine whether a submission stays or not.

I vote 0, 3, 4, and 5 as well. Most of the time, if something should actually deservs to get on newgrounds its 3. other than that, 0, like 5 second seizure enducing color attacks.

I think it should really just be like a thumbs up or thumbs down thing.

One, that would be kind of like the review rating system for flash/audio reviews. Two, it would probably be mis-used; just like YouTube's thumbs up/thumbs down feature.
