Now we got people who want to legalize something else that smells twice as offensive is makes people act like morons!?

Have you ever noticed that 99.99999999% of the people protesting to make weed legal are college students? Stop trying to say you want it legal for medicinal uses and to save trees, you really want it legal so you don't get arrested for smoking it! Stop trying legalize your drug habit under the guise of good intentions!

Hmmm yah we should go ban alcohol, not like we have never tried that before and not like if we did it failed miserably and resulted in record high gang crime.

Marijuana is medicine, Medicine that can be grown.
This is why it won't be legalized, the medical industry is far too powerful for allow it.
Marinol, synthetic THC the active ingredient in cannabis is legal, why?, because it can be regulated and sold and capitalized upon.
When you can get that same drug in a plant, for free, it damages the industry a shitload.

Why do you think we won't get social healthcare?,
Medical industry.

CIGARETTES ARE LEGAL. They are proven to kill people. So why should weed be illegal, when cigarettes are legal?

If weed was legalized, many more people would be able to get hold of it, and ALOT less would get done. If our politicians were stoned all the time, they wouldn't do anything BUT smoke it. Bad? Yes.

You have no answer to that question because there is no answer. It is pure hypocrisy. Weed must be legalised.

I just gave you my answer..

I'm sorry dude, but i must disagree with you.

I live in Holland myself, where weed is actually legal.
I've never been bothered by people being stoned or whatsoever.

Sure, they kill, but when you despise drugs so much, stay away from people who use them.
What you're doing right now is trying to forbid almost everything people enjoy.

There's a good documentary that came out from Canada on this topic, recently.

How I feel, on the matter, is that people should be allowed to do what they want to themselves. People should be free to make their own choices.
It's the same bullshit with gay marriage. I don't think it should be someone else's decision on who you like/love, etc.
I, personally, don't drink, smoke, or like my own gender, but that's my choice, and everybody should be able to get their own.

Racism was the main cause of the illegalization of marijuana. They beleived making marijauna illegal would stop immigrants from coming to this country. It was because the biggest majority of immigrants were frequent marijuana users.

Do you live in NY district 15? If not then you should move there and run for office. Blindly playing the race card there goes over really well, just look at Rep. Charlie Rangel.

Seriously, first it was because of some economic replacement for wood, then the medicinal argument and now this? This is the typical liberal move. They cry to high heaven and when their argument begins to deteriorate, they play the race card. Need proof? Look at Jimmy Carter's comments on health care reform in the United States. Racism has nothing to do with why weed is illegal, nothing at all. (Dumb argument #1) It is a drug and it should stay illegal, PERIOD. Saying that legalizing it would reduce crime is stupid. By that logic, lets make rape legal. Since the numbers of sex offenders in prison is reaching an all time high, lets legalize it... Oh look, problem solved! Now we don't have full prisons and a lot of court cases, do you people realize how stupid that is? (Dumb Argument# 2)

But yeah, hellraiser, I salute you. You keep playing that race card good sir, so much easier then thinking critically.

Ok then lets legalize meth. People should be able to do what ever they want to themselves, ok. So we'll legalize meth and have meth labs... oh but wait, the fumes from it will cause problems to the people who live nearby and to the workers in the factories, and then to the people drug addicts hurt and kill to feed the habit. But thats ok because PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO W/E THEY WANT TO THEMSELVES... thank you Dumb Argument #3.

Dude... you haven't exposed anyone hate to say. Everyone around here knows Reich is a troll, she's verbally gone after eyelovepoozey and Jamoke on countless occasions, posts hatred in almost everything she writes here, and even advertises how she was banned, take a look at the forum.

whos side are you on

Plus it does damage to the body's immune system and although not as quickly CAUSES THE SAME PROBLEMS AS SMOKING!

except it has no additives, isnt carcinogenic when touching only combusted, and most tobacco cancer cases are caused by radioactive fertilizer
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_effe cts_of_tobacco#Radioactive_carcinogens

and all those druggies are artists who use that altered perception to create art,
might as well burn all your albums
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J10w3FuCw fQ&fmt=18

and if it were similar to alcohol it would make people violent

and its probable that corporate, additive added tobacco, the cancer cases are caused by radioactive fertilizer
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_effe cts_of_tobacco#Radioactive_carcinogens

the ld50 of caffeine is 192mg per kg in rats
while thc is 1070 mg
tobacco is also carcinogenic just by touching it, not burning it

cannabis as a psychedelic dissolves boundaries which governments have known possibly for thousands of years and why they keep it illegal

Haha, as if regular factories aren't detrimental to the environment, to workers or the people who live near them. If the danger in manufacture of a single substance is the only argument up against freedom of will, then I don't see how your point is exactly relevant. But keep it up!

The Mexican Connection

On account of racism

In the early 1900s, the western states developed significant tensions regarding the influx of Mexican-Americans. The revolution in Mexico in 1910 spilled over the border, with General Pershing's army clashing with bandit Pancho Villa. Later in that decade, bad feelings developed between the small farmer and the large farms that used cheaper Mexican labor. Then, the depression came and increased tensions, as jobs and welfare resources became scarce.

One of the "differences" seized upon during this time was the fact that many Mexicans smoked marijuana and had brought the plant with them, and it was through this that California apparently passed the first state marijuana law, outlawing "preparations of hemp, or loco weed."

However, one of the first state laws outlawing marijuana may have been influenced, not just by Mexicans using the drug, but, oddly enough, because of Mormons using it. Mormons who traveled to Mexico in 1910 came back to Salt Lake City with marijuana. The church's reaction to this may have contributed to the state's marijuana law.

Other states quickly followed suit with marijuana prohibition laws, including Wyoming (1915), Texas (1919), Iowa (1923), Nevada (1923), Oregon (1923), Washington (1923), Arkansas (1923), and Nebraska (1927). These laws tended to be specifically targeted against the Mexican-American population.

When Montana outlawed marijuana in 1927, the Butte Montana Standard reported a legislator's comment: "When some beet field peon takes a few traces of this stuff... he thinks he has just been elected president of Mexico, so he starts out to execute all his political enemies." In Texas, a senator said on the floor of the Senate: "All Mexicans are crazy, and this stuff [marijuana] is what makes them crazy."

Marijuana is easier to obtain now than alchohol for minors. Just because marijuana is legalizaed doesnt mean our politicians will be stoned all the time. The majority of you have terrible logic. How often do you see politicians drunk off their asses?

If anyone's read the chapter in the Odyssey where Odyssius makes landfall on North Africa, you'll know that his crew ate poisonous poppies that gave them all "good feelings" and made them act silly and goofy.

Here's my point: If even the Greeks taught themselves to stay away from mind-altering chemicals and distractions of that nature, doesn't it make sense that we should do the same?

and im sorry to burst your bubble, but alcohol is a mind altering chemical, distract from one

i know another mind altering chemical, Anandamide, an endogenous cannabinoid found in certain foods, among many other mind altering chemicals found in your diet

so you're getting high, the exact same mode of action as weed with that chemical

Pot should be legalized. Just like cigarettes and alchohol; people have the right to choose not to participate. Also, pot DOESNTkill people, nor does it cause cancer. There has not been a single record of anyone overdosing, dyeing, or getting cancer from marijauna alone. They have still not proved that cigarettes cause cancer (it's still only a theory).

Educate Yourselves.

^ Has valid points.

Legalizing weed would stimulate the economy, it's less harmful than cigarettes (which are currently legal), and you're raging for a really stupid reason.
