I'm only planning on having one kid, and I'm either going to name him Tyler (after my brother) or after my deceased grandfather (he hasn't passed away yet but he's very sick and old - and I won't be having kids anytime soon, probably not until I'm at least 25) because he was very close to me.

If the case is that she is a girl I might name her after my grandmother, as she's been closer to me than my parents my entire life. But 'Diane' seems like an "old" name to me and I would rather her to have a "new-age" name. I would probably let my (future) wife pick the name if it were to be a girl.

Well. I have sort of a dilemma with naming my kids.
Here in Iceland, the naming system is patronymical, so that we don't really have last names, you have a first name, Middle name optional, and the last name is "Son/Daughter of <insert name of father here>"

My real name is Kristinn.
Which means Christian, I fucking despise my name.
that means, that no matter what I do, my kids will have "Kristinsson/Kristinsdóttir" "Son/Daughter of Christian" as their last name.

I wanted to name my male kid, Eilífur Hrannar.
Eilífur means Eternal, and Hrannar is my brother's name, and It means something related to rain,I think it's tempest.

Eternal Tempest, son of Christian -.-
And I can't change my name, because in Icelandic law, you can only change it once, and It was changed against my will when I was adopted.

A girl: Evanna, Aisha, Lydia, Morgan, Alyona, Sinead or Amika.
A boy: Dominic, Ivan, Eamonn, Viktor or Grigory.
