You are a boot too since you haven't been deployed.

Japan doesn't count by the way.

I'm in the Army (ACTIVE BITCHES), and I feel what you're saying, somewhat. I was Infantry for 2 years, but 1 week before we were supposed to deploy, I got flagged for my hearing loss I had developed by being a 50 cal gunner. I had my bags packed and everything. Now all my friends from the last 2 years are in Afghanistan, and I'm in Georgia doing stupid ass paper pushing shit. Going to school. FUUUCK this. Haha. I somewhat agree with you, but with the army, the people that have deployed aren't even proud of it. Everyone in charge is so FUCKING DUMB that it's a dishonor to put on that godforsaken uniform. I just hate being in the Military. When people stop me and say thank you for your service, I just laugh and say if you only knew what "service" consisted of, and walk away.

Seems like you have a giant ego. Unless you only wear it going to and from the base.

You've obviously never been in the military.

I kinda relate to you , but the thing is I'm still a Poolee.

Leaving for BC next month

I just feel guilty about how all my friends and family are extolling me for something I'm not even doing yet. They think I'll be in the field, protecting our country, yet my MOS is Accounting.

At least you EARNED the title of Marine, I'm not sure I'll be able to even make my date due to some ligament problems in my shoulder.

OH HAHAHA SEE I GET IT! YOU TOOK SOMETHING I SAID AND THEN REARRANGED THE LETTERS OR DELETED SOME TO SAY SOMETHING FUNNY, EVEN IF IT DIDN'T MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL. AND THEN YOU ADDED THE WORD "FIXED" TO CONVEY THAT YOU MADE A JOKE BECAUSE I WOULDN'T HAVE REALIZED IT. YOU KNOW I WISH THAT IN ALL THE TIME I WAS HERE I WQULD'VE REALIZED THAT WAS ALL I NEEDED TO DO TO ACTUALLY BE FUNNY ON THIS SITE INSTEAD OF SPENDING TIME TO THINK OF A HUMOROUS TOPIC OR CREATE A FUNNY PICTURE BECAUSE THEN I WOULDN'T HAVE WASTED A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT. I AM REALLY GLAD THAT WHAT YOU DID COUNTED AS A POST.

now if i type here in lower-case letters and put a colon in front so that this text appear like a quote and say something like "lower case" or "not all caps" it circumvents the rule that says i cannot type in all capital letters; although there's still a rule that says i cannot smartass my way around rules

Iv'e always thought about joining up, my family has some what of a proud history in many coutries armed forces, and my grades cut it along side the competetive pay its tempting.

Also, I don't know if the rest of the world knows it, but we Brits (males anyway) are actually very patriotic, ven though we don't throw it in everyone's faces...

I dunno, I'm gonna finish college first then decide, anyone in the forces got some advice for a patriotic naive college boy?

1) Being someone's bitch in exchange for money isn't patriotic. I would think that you not wasting the money and resources of your country would be more "patriotic."
2) Is something you had no control over (your birthplace) worth being proud about to the extent that you feel superior to others?

Just be proud you support the army and you would go and fight for us if you were called to. Its more than most of us can say for ourselves.

and they're talking to the military in general.

Also, you don't need to be deployed to be a hero
