Paper Mario for one. In all honesty, I found Super Mario RPG to be boring at some parts.

Anyone who says oblivion hasn't played a real rpg. It's a great game but its not no rpg.

i haven't played a lot of RPGs but my favourite so far is Oblivion : the elder scrolls IV

My favorite RPG series overall is a tie between SMT: Persona and Phantasy Star. Lately, I've been playing a lot of Phantasy Star Online.

Fuck you. That's what I dislike about RPGs as well. Which is why I love the Mario ones. Atleast you can do something while you're getting attacked and can press something to do more damager while you attack.

I can't believe no one has said anything about Fire Emblem! I just got hooked on that game! The GBA version, and Path of Radiance.

The combat felt boring and repetitive to me. VATS was a half-assed attempt at making anything like the first two.

Without a doubt, Chrono Trigger. Greatest story eva. Character Development was WAY AHEAD of its time. Also just a great RPG when it came down to it.

I am a bit confused, do JRPG's (generally) make you follow a linear chain of events?

I always liked Baulder's Gate from like 98.

Fav Mario RPG: Super Mario RPG: LOTSS
Fav Sony RPG: Saga Frontier

Hey, SaGa Frontier is a pretty decent game, but my favorite has to be Tales of the Abyss.

Any Pokemon game and Tales of Vesperia hands down.

Meh, I'd say it's a tie between Pokemon, Paper Mario, and the (other) Mario RPG series.

Pokemon = Classic series that is, thank goodness, still alive today.

Paper Mario = Innovative, with new features introduced each game.

Mario RPG Series = A treasured series, esecially now with the release of Bowser's Inside Story.

the very hugely overrated Final Fantasy 9. everything is just how you would like. many characters, beatuful visuals and something new you find on every playthrough.

Sadly dungeon siege is underrated. But it WAS a top seller and less people play it :(

What's the difference between the categories? Aren't all of those JRPGs?

I don't play many RPGs, especially now days. The ones I enjoyed when I were younger were Chrono Trigger, Knights of the Old Republic and Pokemon. Never really enjoyed the Final Fantasy series.
