I always see some guy on the internets, when he sees someone is of young age in a arugement, or really anything, they will say "STFU LITTLE KID LOOL". And people on the internet are "cool" with an older guy.

Does your age really judge someone, in your opinion?

A lot of the time, yes. Most of the time "little kids" have terrible grammar, so its even worse.

13 to 16 year olds just tend to be annoying, which is why I try my best to avoid General. This site was made for older kids and young teens(at least that's what it seems like now), and I have no right to tell them to shut up or go away.

Just kidding, but most 13 year old kids make stupid posts, have terrible grammar (sometims, leik, on perpous!!! oh emm gee!!! leik waow!!) and often intervene in flame wars about religion and drugs when they have no idea whatsoever what they are talking about. THAT'S why people don't like 13 year olds. Also, they try to act hard online because they know they can say what ever they want without getting their ass kicked, because 'dis is just on da interwebz!!!' so 13 year olds will make stupid posts about playing 'Ecks Bawks liive!!' instead of things people care about.

It's really a matter of the word "stereotype".

Most people assume that children who are 13 are going to troll the BBS with Rickroll's or goatse's, but not every child is like that.

People also assume that adults are very mature, even though some are stupid or batshit crazy.

It really depends on the person him/herself, rather than the age.

It's why I left my age undefined in my profile. Everyone has always told me that I speak and type as if I were older, so I let that speak for my maturity, rather than have people make assumptions based on my age. I don't make any attempt to hide my age beyond that, though.

I think anyone under 13 shouldnt go on the site . because of the content on forums etc.
but some teens arent that bad and on NG its very surprising how old peeople are sometimes
ive often lended a helping hand to people over 18.
But even though im 14 i do agree that the majorty dont do the age droup justice.
For example i think Vexagon is an awesome coder and i suspected he was at least 17 .but hes the same age as me.

Wow, about what you are talking is really interesting for me because I am 15 year old and haven't been replied like "stfu kid".I had always thought as myself like a mature,self-thinking person that doesn't waste time on paying attention to ppl who insult me, so i considered them as immature for paying attention to kids who are joking on the internet and then getting harsh against em because of their immaturity, we are just some 13-16 that some ppl are kinda immature is natural.

Yes, alot... Usually, an average 12 year old would post a highly unintelligent post while a 17 year old would post a rather "chill" post.

But, there are some exceptions. There's a smarter crowd of 12 year olds. They know what they're talking about.

This is actually why no one realizes I am actually 12 years old and not 17.

In most cases older people know more. But anyone who says LOLOL STFU LITTTLE KID is probably very stupid and can't defeat the kid in normal argument.

More people need to follow this. Once or twice on Newgrounds I've seen a mature 12/13-year-old. Inexperience diminishes over time. The rate depends on maturity and intelligence.

You've just misinterpreted. Typically, someone notices that one's argument appear to be from a very inexperienced viewpoint. People tend to assume that a discussion will occur between someone of similar experience levels than themselves, so they get slightly confused when what they're reading doesn't agree with that assumption. From there, it's easy to check a userpage to see how old someone is, at which point the confusion makes sense.

It's not that a younger person's youth is inherently damaging to their point, it just appears that way from an outside and inexperienced viewpoint. Unfortunately, I can tell from YOUR argument that you're still young enough to relate to those who feel slighted when someone dismisses their opinion as a result of their age.

Obviously, what I've said is not true in all cases. Nothing ever is.
