Seriously, almost everyone in the world believes every fucking thing they hear. One time I was having a conversation with someone and after a few minutes we digressed to discussing political theory. Upon finding out that I was a communist they said that I was fighting to "Kill freedom, kill god, and support genocides totalitarianism and atrocities around the world" I was just thinking that this person is an idiot who knew absolutely nothing about communist theory or even a dictionary definition of what communism is (most dictionaries cite both the actual definition of true communism as a system of public ownership of the means of production and distribution to create financial equality for all people and the common use definition in western society of being a totalitarian rape fest) at first I thought that this person was just uninformed so I explained what communism actually was. No matter what I said this person was just completely bull headed after being brainwashed by the capitalist propaganda machine.

Now, this isn't the only person like this. Millions of people believe that marijuana is addictive despite evidence to the contrary because that is what the propaganda told them. Millions believe in god despite a plethora of logical and common sense reasoning that points to its nonexistence. This is because they were indoctrinated as children. Me, I have opinions, but I change those the second I hear a good logical argument that I cannot counter. There have been numerous times that my opinions have changed by the means of logic. I used to support democracy and capitalism, but I have seen that the logic for it is infinitessimal compared to the logic against it.

Seriously, if you tell a child something then that child will immediately believe it and keep that opinion for the rest of his life despite any attempts at logic or debate.

A philosophy that was then twisted and contorted to the points where it couldn't be acomplished. Even Lenin had to resort to 'capitalist' methods of rule such as the New Economic Policy due to the failure of War Communism.

The reason why Russia and other (supposedly) communist states became opressive is because the government became communist before the people did. That imbalance led to a massive unrest that could only be quelched using military means. Lennin knew this and created the NEP to promote a gradual shift. Stalin fucked everything up, but Russia under Lennin was going in the right direction.

I agree on a lot of those points. Pretty much 300 years of Autocratic rule and then BAM, in the matter of a few months the entire underlying principles of how the country is governed suddenly alter dramatically, it's gonna take any country a good few years to adjust economically and socially.
Not to mention the Civil War reducing how fast and effectively Lenin could 'comfort' and 'adjust' the country so to speak.
There's always the point of somebody saying, 'If we're communist, then why is Lenin in charge?' and other tiny little flaws that make a perfect communist society nigh impossible. Hell, look at China, the largest communist nation in the world, yet also one of the largest in terms of profits from exports and merchandising, a tad ironic.
