So, I got written up today...

...for wearing an O-Face t-shirt. I was in health class, and we are in the sex ed portion of the course. The teacher noticed my shirt, and said it implied a sexual double meaning to it, and is terribly insulting to anyone who has been sexually abused. Administration came to the classroom and I was suspended for 3 days.

Now, I'm no expert, but this is fucking stupid. A cartoon character's face with his mouth wide open, no lettering, extra background imagery, or anything, is apparently far more serious of a dress code violation than guys with their pants below their ass, or girls who parade their cleavage around. Does anyone agree?

Yeah, 3 days suspension sounds ridiculous, they probably just should have asked you to flip it inside out or something. Did your parents care?

Obviously the teacher is the pervert. Tons of teachers I know do this, they automatically assume that every article of clothing a student wears could be sexual or drug related even if it's something like a bunny or whatever.

I would have to actually agree with you that that was fucking stupid. I can't believe they just went on assumption. They had absolutely no prove that the shirt implied something sexual. That's a breach of an amendment or somethin'...

But I think they overreacted. Usually if you wear something that doesn't comply with dress code they either make you change, have your parents bring you clothes, or give you a used PE shirt.

No but in all honesty, appeal to the suspension. If you're late in high school alot of schools have the three-strikes rule, where if you get 3 suspensions then you're expelled. You should also bring this up in any other case of power abuse or unbiased assumption.

You should do everything you can to make them see that it is the teacher/s who are at fault, not you. The t-shirt has nothing sexual about it. Are they going to ban students from yawning in school as well? Since it looks like they are opening their mouths?

And I agree with you about the hypocrisy of suspending you over wearing a t-shirt like that, when there are slags walking around with their tits and arse hanging out.

Weirdly, when I was in 6th Form (no uniform requirements) I was never in trouble for the shirts I used to wear. This being one of my favourites at the time.
