Right, could you guys tell me some bands that sound like Avenged Sevenfold or System of A Down? I really like this type of rock and I want to know if there are more bands that are similar. Thanks beforehand.

I could tell you situations to put yourself in that would give you the same feeling as the quality of their music:

I find it pretty funny that you acknowledge the unhelpful post and not the two helpful ones.
Lol.

system of a down is so bad they are good. I doubt you will find many American bands that are similar to them but i do know of a Japanese band that is somewhat similar: maximum the hormone.
as for avenged sevenfold.. there are too many that could be considered similar. I'll just throw some out there disturbed, killswitch engage, bullet for my valentine, atreyu, rob zombie, pain

Similar artists isn't all that helpful - seems as if they just rack up those stats from what everybody else is listening to and label it as a similar artist.

Pandora is my suggestion is well. The best part is that you can listen to the similar bands right there.

i agree. i don't care for those bands either, but to bash someone else's musical preferences is kinda lame...they can't help their preferences any more than we can.

White Zombie, Disturbed, Korn, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, and for other bands like SOAD that are so bad they're good, Rammstein. Even though that last one isn't really metal like the other ones.
Also, be careful with Disturbed. With most of their albums, they have one good song, and all the rest be blah songs.

Well yea, that's obviously part of it .
What they are saying is "Here are some bands of the same (or very close) genre, ordered by how much people seem to like them" I use this feature all the time to find artists (Of course it works better as you get more obscure, since there are less listeners to influence the results)

how about Avenged Sevenfold and SOAD?
Failing that, start listening to Black/Death/Thrash metal and forget about those bands.

I would say Meshugah kinda sounds like SOAD, but they're a little more heavier than SOAD. I also highly recommend Mastodon that's a progressive sludge metal, basically grunge only heavier...

But you must listen to Pantera, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, Machine Head, Lamb of God, H.I.M. (=D), and search about Metalcore, Nu Metal, Thrash Metal and Melo-Death.
