I have real paranoia issues...i'm always sure i'm going to get attacked or robbed at some point or another, i grip my bag on the train, i'm also afraid to walk around at night, even though i don't live in a bad neihborhood, and i especially don't trust being alone with anyone unfamiliar anywhere, my first reaction from receiving an anonymous candy, or candy from someone i know is to look at it to see if i can find some evidence of tampering (poison) then to ask the person if they did in fact give me the candy...so? am i crazy? what do you do when paranoid?

Obviously you're not that paranoid, because you posted on these boards telling people about your condition, if you were really paranoid you would have realized that you are revealing your weaknesses and just making yourself more vulnerable for attack by speaking of it.

Paranoia is a very healthy state of mind, if you think they're out to get you, that means you think you matter.

It's the terrible combination of overprotective parents and news stations bent on airing only 24/7 doom-and-gloom news reports.

I figure fun should be completely extinguished in favor of "safety" and "security" within a few more generations.

Doing blow helps relieve paranoia. It also helps replenish dopamine. It's a WIN WIN! ;)

I wouldn't worry about it. Hell, it's a given when living in the city.

Well, as long as you're prepared, then you have nothing to worry about. But then, when you don't worry, you'll get even more paranoid because nothing has happened. Then you won't worry...

IMO you should download a few dozen songs that pump you up onto your MP3 player of choice and go to a few public events. Removing the sound stimulus of external noise should reduce your level of anxiety.
Using this method you'll conquer crowds.

ARE YOU MAN ENOUGH FOR THIS?

Don't look behind you......

There is no such thing as someone who doesn't like the PS3, there is only poor people who can't afford one. PS3 owners pity you and hope you can one day get out of poverty.

Well, as long as you're not convinced that all of our children are going to be kidnapped if we don't monitor them constantly.

Is there much you can do to influence a paranoid state of mind? I guess I wouldn't know.

Tell this to a professional not post it on a forum. Unless there are actual doctors on here. I kind of am. But I'm not real.

Cynicism is the best antidote to paranoia. I rather regularly am able to stop a paranoid thought in its tracks by simply asking the question: "Wait... why would anybody give a shit enough to do something like that?"

Some aspects I just can't relate to, though. I'm a 6-foot-tall, medium-build, full-grown man... I walk anywhere and anytime I please without much care. Take self-defense classes? Your fear is rooted in the unknown, so educate yourself about the situations you've been in that make you paranoid.

Lol idk but I am freaking out the fuck out of myself tonight. Usually what happens when I start telling myself that no matter what I do, in the end I'm just going to die. I don't mean to, but that pops into my head and now I'm having 100,000 of the most gruesome things imagined in my head of how I can die this very night with no control over it. Next thing I know my brain has the biggest rush in it's life (bigger than any drugs I had taken at least) because I'm thinking so hard that my life is in danger and pretty much my whole night is ruined over something that my common sense tells me is fucking stupid to think they will happen.
