*This happened today at about 3:00PM Pacific Time

Upon arriving at my stop, I got off the bus to transfer to a train.
I was walking to the train station when I saw a man that appeared to be sleeping in a trash can.
To help you visualize, he was facing the sky, his butt was inside the trash can, and his back was hunched over so his body can fit inside this small round public trash can. He looked old, fragile, and it was obvious that he was homeless.

As I walked past him, others stared at him and simple walked on by.
Something inside my guts told me that man wasn't alive. I didn't know why, but just the sight of a man stuffed inside a trash can, sleeping or not, seemed weird to me.

I went back to the trash can, and tapped the man on his shoulders. I asked, "Excuse, me sir, are you all right?" People stared at me as if I was crazy. The man didn't respond. At this point, I tapped the man once more, but this time on the head and asked him again, "Are you all right sir?" No answer. At this point, I knew something was wrong with the man.

I immediately took out my cell-phone and called 911.

In less than 5 minutes, the ambulance and police arrived. The police man came up to me and asked, "How long was he here?" I replied that I did not know. The police man went over to the man and asked, "Sir, are you OK? Can you please open your eyes for us?" At this point the police man radioed in and the paramedics went over to the man and took him out and laid him on the ground. They opened his eyes, checked his pulse, and stared talking to the police man. I knew the man was dead, and so did they. At this point, a huge crowd formed a circle over us. The man was taken inside the ambulance and the ambulance rushed forwards. Then more police cars entered the scene and a bigger crowd formed. They questioned me some more, and told me they would call me if they had any more questions. I left and headed to catch my train. Inside the station, just nearly 200 ft away from the scene where the old homeless man was found dead inside the trash can, ABC was filming a TV show.

Normally I'd call bullshit on your story, but since it was LA, I'll believe you.

LA's a fucked up city.

LA's the mental asylum escapee of the US Major Cities.
Hell, I'm glad I only used to live near there.

My computer's breaking down, so nope.

So you're saying you'd normally believe any story this guy would tell you over the Internet, but not here?

I went and looked at that corner too. Here's what I miss about LA.
People protesting a war for oil while burning gas from a pick-up truck.

Only in LA can this happen.

That's pretty awesome.
He probably can't even see shit while backing up.
Then again, he actually has something that looks like it's used for yardwork in the back.
Not like those shiny oversized trucks people seem to get just for the hell of it.

If he has landscaping equipment in the back of his truck in LA, then I would say that he's probably watching for INS too.

Well dude, its LA, its always like that. It's good to know that you're not so insensitive as to walk by a guy in a trash can. That's probably what I would have done.

It's too bad that Los Angeles isn't as safe as it used to be. I still feel bad about having my family live here.
