A lot of things are pointing towards one and this so called leaked snapshot of a Toys 'R' Us flyer seems back up the rumor even more. For awhile now the Wii sales have been declining and since the PS3 and 360 price cuts both systems have been on the rise even more. It looks like it is Nintendo's turn for their first Wii price drop since the launch of the console.

The sales are probably declining because everyone already has one already. Al though, for only $200 I'd be an idiot not to buy a second one.

Yup, expected. Although, it does say something about the financial state of Nintendo. They are the last major gaming company to make a price cut on their current-gen consoles.

Looks like Sony confirmed the Wii price drop. Yeah, I said Sony. While putting a comparison chart up between the 3 consoles people noticed the Wii priced at $199. Still waiting for a confirmation from Nintendo though.

At this point a price drop seems like it would be essential in order to keep sales up. $50 seems like too little though, they should have dropped the price by $100 like Microsoft and Sony did. Looking at it now, the Wii is starting to become pretty pricy considering how weak the hardware is compared to the PS3 and 360.
