how does it feel when you are always left out, when you have to scroll down and methodically find your country, at the same time knowing that we have it already done for us, set to our needs, by default? Does it ignite rage into your soul or do you weep for the countless seconds of your life, wasted, because of the unforgiving corporation?How does it feel, other countries? I want to know, what it's like to never know the joy of saving so many seconds while registering on a .com site. So tell me, how does it feel?

Usually Canada is the next option instead of having to scroll through all the alphabetics somewhere around Cambodia. Sometimes it's the ZIP code that doesn't match up, since we have a 6 number-letter combination versus your five numbers. In which case I just say I live in Beverly Hills, 90210.

A second or two of scrolling is still better than living in America.

If anything, it just illustrates the stereotypical laziness of Americans, and their short attention spans. The rest of the English-speaking world has no problem learning the alphabet.

Some of those sign-up form websites have Country detection as to where you're connected from... I've also never seen a default being 'United States'.

They did it because most American's can't find their own country on a map. They have little faith on Americans finding it on a scroll list.

Other internet providers have preset country and sometime city in the options. if your internet provider is state side, it showes as state side, if you have satalite internet and lets say japan is your internet provider, you get japan plus (city) preselected... oh and it also effects ADDS, POPUPS etc...
