Glancing across the top 10 on Itunes it's all annoying 80's synth bubblegum Hip-Hop / Dance shit. Not a single rock song. Am I just being a nostalgic old fart or was music a lot better in 2006?

Nobody plays their own instruments, and if the singers aren't African American they're imitating African Americans. I've got nothing against them, I just hate that there's no variety anymore.

I just went on to get some new songs for my Ipod, and I ended up getting Fleetwood Mac. Fucking Fleetwood Mac. That's what modern music has driven me to.

i feel your pain dude. what happened to hard rock? and not this crap that claims to be rock (green day, 3 doors down, etc.) but real rock (The beatles, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Cinderella, Iron Maiden, etc.

i agree that most mainstream music is shit these days, but it doesn't really need to effect you. i mean if you don't like the song, turn it off. if you would rather listen to the old classic, buy a CD. just leave the shit artists to wallow in their pitiful ass-drippings and hopefully one day they'll wake up and realise just how gay they really are.

Urban Voodoo Machine put out their first album this year, and it's awesome. 2009 has been pretty dry compared to 2008, though.

There's always good music being made, there's just never good music in the top 10.

You should check out some underground death metal bands. I could name a shitload for you. My favorites are bloodbath and opeth. There also is degrade, cannibal corspe, amon amarth, Nile, and some other sweet shit. Also alice and chains have a new album out called a looking in the view. It has some great songs on it. Just because metal isnt popular dosent mean you should whine and complain about modern music. Im pretty sure we will get our turn again soon. Just be patient.
