There's been some pretty fuckin awesome movies this year, alot better than 2008 anyway. And the year is not even over yet, but we've had some pretty awesome movies. What do you guys think? So far, it's been:

9
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Terminator: salvation (not as good as #1 and #2 but better than #3)
Public Enemies
Inglorious Basterds
Knowing (I only count this because the first half was great, but the second half was a huge letdown with all the religious shit.)
Coraline
Battle for Terra
Monsters versus Aliens
Watchmen
Star Trek
Harry potter: Half Blood Prince.

Ohwell, might just be me, but this year has brought some kickass movies.

No it's not just you. I've gone to the movies more this year than I usually go in three. It's been amazing.

It's probably not the best year for movies, but it certainly is a good year.

2009 is crap compared to some other years in film.
I hated a lot of movies from 2008 though. (space chips)

The X-men movie was utter shit. If it wasn't for Gambit I would have thrown up.

I've not seen any other X-Men related things except maybe a few episodes from the cartoon series when I was kid, but I thought it was pretty damn good.

I think this is one of the worst. I've heard of two good movies, District 9 and maybe Transformers 2 but I don't know. 2008 was way better than this year in my opinion.

It was a pretty good year, but I wouldn't call it the best. Salvation was awful, so was X-Men. The majority of what you listed were just good, not great, anyway.

Yeah, there's been a few good movies.

Others include:

Moon

It's been a good year for animation.

Nope. Only 2 movies actually.

Also you didn't mention the Hurt Locker which was a good movie that came out recently. Or Millenium.

I guess you only enjoy blockbusters. I hate you sheep.

You can honestly see why I stopped watching X-Men movies a while back. The best characters, they ruin and they always dry-hump the hell out of the same main characters like Cyclops.

It is the best year for movies if you're 12 years old and have no idea of what a good movie is.

I personally loved Watchmen and District 9.

In ancient days, men looked into the stars and saw their heroes in the constellations. In modern times, we do much the same, but our heroes are epic men of flesh and blood.

In 10 years when you are in the video store and you see all of those movies on the shelf, are you going to look at any of them and say, "Oh my god, this movie was a classic, and I haven't seen it in so long, I just have to rent it"? Probably not.

With the exception of Inglorious Basterds, I doubt any of those movies will be spoken of in a few years. Just summer Blockbusters that are stuck in your head right now.

I had only to wish that there be a large crowd of spectators the day of my execution and that they would greet me with cries of hate.
